The EE20Z engine block (all generations) suffers from a design weakness. This poor design causes vibration at the crankshaft bearings, leading to their breakage, thus causing the crankshaft to jam/break in half. This occurrence bends the connecting rods and the costs only increase.
Replacing the engine does not solve the problem, as all (2008-2018) Subaru diesel engines suffer from this same design.
We remanufacture the engine, fabricate new supports from a steel block (CNC machining + boring) for mounting of STD crankshaft with STD bearings.
